Artesano Del Tobacco and AJ Fernandez have teamed up to create a very special cigar, the El Pulpo. Translating to The Octopus in English, this cigar began in 2016 and it took AJ Fernandez several years to perfect the blend. The result is a lovely full-bodied stick with a Mexican San Andres wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and Nicaraguan fillers. The tobaccos featured in the El Pulpo come from prized tobacco grown on the infamous AJ Fernandez family farm.

The El Pulpo by Artesano Del Tobacco Octo Ocho is quite a unique looking cigar if you are unfamiliar with culebra cigars. Culebra cigars are a trio of cigars snake around one another and are usually secured at both ends with ribbons. Now, lets get back to the El Pulpo. You might be wondering where they got the name from, well Octo is a Latin word that translates toEight, whileOchoalso translates toEight from Spanish, meaning the entire name of the cigar translates toTheOctopusEight Eight.Unlike the other sizes in the line that are box-pressed, Octo Ocho is a round cigar.

“We wanted a blend that fits people palate the way an octopus fits in different shapes, spaces and becomes that shape, we wanted a blend that becomes hard for any smoker to put down once they light up like an octopus that doesnt let go of its pray, once again AJ Fernandez has done an amazing job creating EL Pulpo Cigars. We couldnt be more satisfied with the finished product and cannot wait for everyone to try it. As they say, good things come to those who wait and this statement continues to ring true with the EL Pulpo Cigars. – Billy & Gus of Artesano Del Tobacco.
