The Tuxtla series brings a new wrapper to some of the companys popular blends the Avion, 7th, and T110. While the last Avion had a really nice broadleaf wrapper, this one features Mexican tobacco grown near San Andrs Tuxtla. Its a city in the state of Veracruz, stretching along the country’s eastern coastline by the Gulf of Mexico. This is where most Mexican cigar tobacco is grown, but we usually only hear the San Andrs portion of the name.

Under the wrapper of this box-pressed perfecto is a rich mix of Nicaraguan tobacco that provides the foundation of the blend. Toasting it up offers the definite taste of cocoa in the smoke, along with a host of other notes like cinnamon and leather. It compares well to the original stogie and provides a nice comparison. This one is definitely more peppery and gives us something with a far more lively personality. Both are quite good, and no doubt will satisfy different types of smokers. But those who want a punch will probably enjoy this new edition of the Avion.
